Website inquiries and visitor metrics: what they tell you

Separate genuine customer messages from anonymous traffic numbers.

Last reviewed: 8 October 2026Based on the current public product

Before you begin

A visit counter and a customer inquiry measure different kinds of activity. They should not be combined into a single “customers” figure.

MachinA includes website inquiries and visitor activity in its private management area. Those features help an owner observe the site, not infer the identity of every visitor.

Make the inquiry path visible

Place a clear contact option near the service explanation; do not hide the only contact route deep in the footer.

Review actual messages

An inquiry is valuable when it includes a real question or request. Respond appropriately and avoid asking for unnecessary private information.

Read metrics cautiously

A page view may come from a repeat visitor or an automated request. One person can view multiple pages.

Improve clarity first

If people reach the site but rarely inquire, consider whether the service and contact steps are easy to understand.

A practical example

A counter records 250 page views and the contact inbox receives two messages. That does not mean 250 different people arrived or that each message is a sale. The numbers describe different events. First ensure the form works and the offer is clear before treating a traffic chart as proof of demand.

What to check before you finish

  • Analytics figures do not guarantee sales.
  • Track only the data and disclosures appropriate for your audience.
  • Never publish private inquiry details in public page content.
